The festive season is a time for giving, and here at PayItMonthly, we take that to heart! On the 8th of December, we hosted a charity event that truly embodied the spirit of the season and showcased the incredible generosity of our team.
Giving back to the community is a core part of our company ethos, and this event was a testament to that. But we didn't just want to support any cause – we wanted to choose one that truly resonated with our team. So, we put it to a vote! After careful consideration and passionate discussions, The Mental Health Foundation was chosen as our beneficiary. This fantastic organisation challenges our current outlook on and aims to create fundamental change in the UK’s approach to mental health.
With the charity selected, one of our team members, Becky, stepped up to organise the event. From securing the venue to sourcing raffle prizes, she poured their heart and soul into making this night a success. A huge thank you to Becky for her dedication and all those involved in helping her!
The event itself was a blast! Held generously at Smokey Joe’s Cheltenham, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. We had a fantastic turnout, with colleagues, their families, and contributions from other local businesses joining in the fun. A challenging quiz put our general Christmas knowledge to the test (with some hilariously competitive moments!), and live music performed by Jackson Higley playing out the evening. Of course, the highlight was the raffle, with an array of incredible prizes generously donated by local businesses and of course from PayItMonthly ourselves.
But beyond the fun and games, the night was about something much bigger. Our team members and wider community showed their support in so many ways. From generous donations to enthusiastic participation in the activities, everyone played their part in making a difference.
And the results? We're thrilled to announce that together, we raised a fantastic £451 for The Mental Health Foundation! This incredible sum will go towards researching and developing new and more effective ways to support and protect good mental health, providing evidence-backed advice and resources, working with local communities to nurture good mental health and partnering with organisations across the UK share solutions.
The success of this event wouldn't have been possible without the collective effort of our amazing team and the support of our local community. It was a true demonstration of what we can achieve when we come together for a good cause.
This is just the beginning! Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing charity initiatives as we continue to find ways to give back and make a positive impact.
