To complete your Shopify integration, you must install both the PayItMonthly Payment Plugin and the Shopify Customisation App. The Customisation App manages your finance settings, including instalment lengths, credit limits and when PayItMonthly is offered at checkout.

Step 1 Payment Plugin (Mandatory)

This guide will walk you through the simple steps to install and set up the PayItMonthly payment plugin on your Shopify store. Once installed, you’ll be able to offer flexible monthly payment options to your customers directly at checkout.

1. Install the App

Click the button below to visit the PayItMonthly Shopify plugin page and install.

2. Generate API Credentials

• Via (app.payitmonthly.uk) Log in to your PayItMonthly partner (merchant) account
• Navigate (purple section on left) to Admin → Developers → API Credentials
• Click “Create API User” button at top right of screen
• On drop down select “Shopify Integration”
• A new row will list your “Access Key ID” and a button to show your “Secret Access Key”
• Note when you click “Show Secrete Access Key” that it will only show once so copy it right away.

3. Connect the Plugin with Shopify

• Return to Shopify (in the PayItMonthly app setup screen)
• Enter the Access Key and Secret keys into the form provided
• Click “Return to Shopify” button (if shown) to continue setup.

4. Activate & Disable Test Mode

• Once credentials are accepted, disable Test Mode to go live
• Click Activate to enable PayItMonthly as a payment option at checkout then save.

5. Verify in Checkout

After activation, PayItMonthly should appear as a payment option in your Shopify checkout page. We recommend you run a test application to see that the customer application form correctly loads.

Step 2 Customisation App (Mandatory)

The customisation app works alongside the PayItMonthly for Shopify plugin, allowing merchants to configure key details like cart limits and maximum instalment options.

1. Install the Companion App Plugin

• Visit the PayItMonthly Customisation App page
• Click Install on the app store page
• Confirm by clicking Install again in the pop-up.

2. Configure Payment Settings

• In Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Payments → Payment method customisations
• Click Manage → Add customisation → Customisation App
• Enter your minimum and maximum cart values
• Choose the maximum number of instalments you want to offer
• Click Save.

3. Update or Edit Settings

• Go to Settings → Payments → Payment method customisations
• Select the active Customisation App
• Update your values or instalment settings
• Click Save.

Step 3 Finance Calculator Widget (Optional)

The PayItMonthly Finance Calculator Widget can be added to your Shopify store once the PayItMonthly Shopify Customisation App is installed. It gives customers a clear view of their available finance options, allowing them to explore different instalment lengths and monthly repayment amounts before they reach checkout.

1. Open Theme Settings

• In Shopify Admin, navigate to Sales Channel → Online Store → Themes
• On your current theme, click Customise.

2. Add the Dynamic PayItMonthly Widget

• In the theme editor, choose Add block/component
• Select Apps
• Click PIM Explain Button to add the widget.

3. Save and Publish

• Click Save in the theme editor
• Preview your store to confirm the widget displays correctly.
