A Decade of Dedication: Reflecting on Our Journey with Cheltenham's Mayor
It was a special day for all of us at PayItMonthly on August 14th, 2025, as we celebrated our 10th anniversary. We were honoured to be joined by the Mayor of Cheltenham, Dr. David Willingham, who helped us mark this significant milestone. Looking back, our journey has been an incredible one, and we were so proud to share this moment with our team, our community, and a representative from the town we've always called home
Our Roots in Cheltenham Town
Our story began in 2015, with an idea sparked on our CEO Chris Pursey's sofa. Alongside his father, Brian Pursey, Chris launched PayItMonthly with a simple goal: to help businesses compete by offering interest-free payment options. What started as a small, local venture has grown into a company supporting thousands of businesses across the UK. Despite our national reach, our heart has always remained in Cheltenham. We've grown with the town, moving into our third and largest office to accommodate our expanding team and we're committed to continuing our journey right here in Cheltenham.
Our Team and Our Values
We believe our success is a reflection of the incredible people who make up our team. We've always strived to create a culture of collaboration, flexibility, and inclusion, and we're proud of the environment we've built. This dedication to our team has led to some recognition, including being a Certified Living Wage Employer and, more recently, being named a Certified Great Place to Work 2026 where our team members anonymously voted resulting in us having a remarkable 96% satisfaction rate.
This same people-first approach extends to our PayItMonthly Partners and their customers. We've always believed in treating people fairly, which is why we've never charged late fees and always work with our customers if they're facing difficulties. Our principles have helped us earn an "Excellent" rating on Trustpilot, with over 4,000 reviews.
A Look to the Future
The anniversary celebration gave us a moment to pause and reflect on everything we’ve accomplished. We shared a video highlighting our milestones, from our office moves to being named a finalist for the Best Retail Finance Provider at the 2025 Consumer Credit Awards. A key moment was the unveiling of a 10-year anniversary plaque, signed by both the Mayor and every member of our team. Our CEO, Chris, was also surprised with a caricature made by one of our talented team members Nadiia, a great example of the creativity and community we have in our office.
As we look to the next ten years, our commitment to Cheltenham is stronger than ever. To celebrate our anniversary, we've pledged to give every one of our Pimmers a fully paid volunteering day to support local causes. We've always believed in giving back through things like charity and litter-picking initiatives and this new commitment is a small way of saying thank you to the community that has supported us from the very beginning.
Mayor Dr. Willingham's kind words about our journey and our commitment to diversity and the local community resonated with our team. Having him join us was a wonderful way to honour our shared history and look forward to the future. We're excited to continue growing, supporting our partners and contributing to this fantastic town for many years to come!
